Hollywood actress, pop singer and model Lindsay Lohan was back on the legal chopping block again on Thursday after testing positive for alcohol consumption while still under probation. She is currently serving 120 days under house arrest, which she was sentenced to after pleading no contest to stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice boutique while still under probation for a 2007 DUI charge. This time she caught a break, however, when it was found that the judge who required her to undergo controlled substances testing only required her to do so through Feb. 25.
She is in compliance with the rules and laws of the State of California. She has obeyed all laws, she has done nothing wrong. You know, I feel like you guys are all disappointed to hear that, but the reality is she's done everything right this time,” said Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Holley, during a press conference. Lindsay is no longer restricted in what she can drink, but she is only allowed to have one friend over at any given time, plus any family members.
In 2007, though, she was caught driving under the influence twice and her time in and out of rehab has been widely documented. Though she has made some television and movie appearances in the last few years, her career has lost traction. In February, she was charged with felony grand theft, later reduced to amisdemeanor, after being accused of taking the aforementioned necklace.
Lohan has become as infamous for the trouble she makes as she is famous for her movies. She worked on a soap opera at age 10 and made her silver screen debut in the 1998 remake of “The Parent Trap” at age 11. As a young adult she appeared in films such as “Freaky Friday,” “Mean Girls,” and “Herbie: Fully Loaded,” and also pursued work as a singer.
