Jolie,received the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo award at the closing ceremonies.Jolie's directorial debut "The Land of Blood and Honey" is a film about the war in Bosnia. One of the film's lead actresses, Zana Marjanovic, introduced Jolie to the crowd by saying she had a friend there to help her present an award.An insider told that Jolie, clad in an Elie Saab gown, was moved "almost to tears" by the crowd's nonstop applause. The festival director, Mirsad Purivatra praised her not only her cinematic achievements but also for her global humanitarian efforts.The film sparked considerable controversy because it focuses on the love between a Muslim woman and a Serb who are in a relationship at the beginning of the Bosnian war in the '90s, and then shows what happens to their relationship throughout the war.On the red carpet, Jolie and Brad Pitt, stopped to "pat a baby," . "I love this country," Jolie said. "I was honored to have a chance to meet everybody. This movie was a chance to bring attention to the situation that happened so long ago, and I hope that it brings attention and more dialogue to remind people what everybody here went through."

Arnold Schwarzenegger has amended a divorce filing and withdrawn a request that a judge terminate Maria Shriver's rights to spousal support.The actor and former California governor's filing replaces a document he submitted last week that also indicated he wanted Maria to pay her own attorney's fees. The amended response filed on Monday in Los Angeles states Arnold Schwarzenegger is also willing to pay his estranged wife's attorney.

Late Pop King Michael Jackson's family has announced a tribute concert to the late King of Pop to take place on October 8 in Cardiff, Wales.The four-hour show at the 75,000-capacity Millennium Stadium will be broadcast via satellite.At the Beverly Hills press conference on Monday revealing the details of the "Michael Forever" show, Jackson family matriarch Katherine was joined by sons Tito, Jackie and Marlon and daughter LaToya, siblings Jermaine, Randy, Janet Jackson.

Katherine Jackson said : "When I was told some of the names of the artists performing, I knew it would be fit for a king. If my son was here today he would feel the same way, and so I'd like to say thank you very much for helping to keep my son's legacy alive," "I will be there along with as many members of my family that can make it," Katherine said. "It is intended to be the biggest and best concert in the world for many years to come." LaToya added, "This event is far, far overdue. He was an entertainer who I feel no one can ever stand up to or hold a candle to as far as his talent is concerned. This tribute will be something spectacular and I know that he would approve."

Brothers Randy and Jermaine said : The timing of the show was inappropriate. In a statement, the two said, "While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honors our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael's death. As everyone knows, those proceedings commence September 20."

One of the show's producers said that despite taking place in a large stadium, the event will have a more intimate atmosphere with the building's roof closed. Proceeds from the show will benefit three charities Jackson supported: the Prince's Trust, AIDS Project Los Angeles and a cancer charity. The show's lineup will be announced on August 3.

There were no major stars and no screaming fans. In lieu, the televised screening of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards ceremony in Dubai on Saturday saw a few little stars and the city's elite who kept a respectable distance. British singer songwriter Amy Winehouse, the volatile singer whose career was rocked by drug addiction and alcohol abuse, has died. She was 27. She was found dead in her northwest London home, London police and ambulance officials said. A Metropolitan Police spokesman said it was not yet clear what the cause of death was.

Amy Winehouse, known for her powerful contralto vocals and her eclectic mix of musical genres including R&B, soul and jazz. Winehouse, once one of the hottest acts in pop music, was jeered and booed off the stage in Belgrade, Serbia, last month when she was attempting to launch a new European tour. She cancelled the rest of the events on the planned tour.

The troubled singer had been in and out of rehab multiple times, even singing songs about how she would not go. The news of Winehouse's death did not come to a shock to some celebrities. her drug addled tabloid lifestyle would take center stage. Her fans watched as she was arrested for assault, warned and featured doing drugs in a home video.

Her spiral continued until 2008, when she was hospitalized with lung disease and covered in nicotine patches in order to break her from the worst of her addictions. We hoped she'd recover. We hoped to see another album just as good as "Back to Black," but more importantly, we wanted to see her beat her addiction and survive. We wanted Winehouse to divorce Blake Feder Civil and become a success story.

Shortly after her hospitalization, Winehouse did divorce Blake Feder Civil and the news stopped.  Winehouse underwent a brief stint in rehab to prepare her for an upcoming comeback tour. She even performed an impromptu concert in London at the 100 Club. She was sober. She talked to the fans, and everyone cheered. It looked like the old Amy was back.

She appeared well prepared for her concert in Belgrade. She wasn't. It was a disgrace. The singer stumbled, muttered and forgot the lyrics to her own songs. She went home. We wondered what happened between the 100 Club and Belgrade. The tour spent about a day in limbo before the remaining dates were canceled.

We, again, hoped Winehouse would recover that this was just a brief bump on her road to becoming drug free. Unfortunately, that bump in the road turned out to be a mountain, and Winehouse was too sick to climb it. She was found dead in her apartment earlier. The cause of death is unknown.

Actress, singer, and entrepreneur Selena Gomez, who is now focusing on a music career, has launched her new album, When The Sun Goes Down, and says that in the long run she will take acting as a full fledged career. It's been two and a half to three years that I have been acting and singing. However, I feel most likely in terms of a longer career span, it would be acting, Gomez said. She began her acting career at the age of seven, with I Barney & Friends and recently featured in movies like Ramona and Beezus and Monte Carlo.

Best known for portraying Alex Russo in the Emmy Award winning Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place, Gomez is the lead singer and founder of the pop band Selena Gomez & the Scene, which has released Kiss & Tell and A Year Without Rain. Quizzed about her much publicised relationship with teen pop icon Justin Bieber, Gomez told that she would say it's nice to have someone who knows what you're going through.

Over his lifetime classical dancer and collector Mohan Khokar (1924-1999) built up a large collection of dance memorabilia, ranging from photographs, paintings, costumes, gramophone records, Chola bronzes, puppets, letters, textile, stamps, dolls, handbills, calendars and even firecracker boxes. Much to the delight of Delhiites this priceless collection is now on display at an exhibition titled “A Century of Indian Dance: 1901-2000”.

The treat begins with the Nataraja gallery. Bronze images of Nataraj traceable to the Chola period give way to other sections of the exposition. A Nataraj made of broken bangles and beads on a sketch of the deity from the last century holds pride of place. A photograph recounts the fascinating story of a set of talented Devadasis who came along as the dowry of princess Chimnibai on her marriage to Sayajirao Gaekwad, Maharaja of Baroda in 1883. The dancers stayed on to entertain the court and Bharatanatyam subsequently spread to North and West India.

Many of the photographs were taken by Khokar. Uday Shankar, the pioneer of modern Indian dance, is revealed in a range of photographs, including one with Rabindranath Tagore. Equally compelling are the photographs of the prima donnas of Indian dance such as Mrinalini Sarabhai, T. Balasaraswati, MK Saroja (Mohan Khokar's wife), Rukmini Devi Arundale, Zohra Sehgal, Kumudini Lakhia and Uma Sharma. One arresting image has a young Pandit Birju Maharaj, the doyen of Kathak in motion. The collection also includes modern dancers such as Astad Deboo, Daksha Sheth and Aditi Mangaladas, to name just a few.

The dancing dolls, several letters to Khokar from dancers like Ragini Devi, Ted Shawn and Indrani Rahman, stamps and posters add an interesting dimension to the exhibition.

The exhibition has been painstakingly curated by Khokar's son Ashish, a dance critic, and organised by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). It is hailed as India's single largest dance holding by the Lincoln Centre, New York; The Dance Museum in Stockholm and UNESCO's Dance Council, Paris.

Iconic dancers milled around at the opening, admiring the works on display. Said Kathak maestro Pandit Birju Maharaj, “This exhibition reiterates that dance was and will remain beautiful. The dancer may be old but the eyes, expression and movement are always youthful.”

“There are unique pictures of old artistes which we would never have seen otherwise. They are great inspirations for youngsters,” asserted Kuchipudi exponent Kaushalya Reddy, second wife of famous Kuchipudi dancer Raja Reddy and sister of renowned dancer Radha Reddy who shares the stage with her husband.

ICCR now plans to take the collection around the world. US and Europe are likely to be the first stops. However, artistes are less than happy that the collection lacks a permanent home. The exhibition could change that. Says Saswati Sen, foremost disciple of Pandit Birju Maharaj: “The Sangeet Natak Akademi has more or less committed itself to supporting a state museum of performing arts. The Mohan Khokar collection will definitely find a place in that case.” The exhibition is on till July24.

Steven Allan Spielberg is an American film director, screenwriter and film producer. Forbes magazine places Spielberg's net worth at $3.1 billion. In 2006, the magazine Premiere listed him as the most powerful and influential figure in the motion picture industry. Time listed him as one of the 100 Most Important People of the Century. Dinosaur fan alert Steven Spielberg says a fourth "Jurassic Park" film may be only a few years away.  Part of his first ever trip to Comic Con, Spielberg was asked directly about the issue during the panel for Tintin today. And he was happy to open up on the matter.

Spielberg told an audience at the Comic Con fan convention Friday that he has a story and a screenwriter for the next installment of his blockbuster franchise about prehistoric reptiles brought into modern times through cloning. He says the film hopefully will come together in the next two or three years.

Also at the convention Friday, Spielberg said there’s only one or two of his old movies that he might consider converting to 3 D. The filmmaker said that if conversions could be done well enough that the result looked like a movie shot in 3 D, then “Jurassic Park” might be a candidate for the three dimensional treatment. He also said his shark tale “Jaws” was a possibility.

In romantic comedy film "Friends with Benefits" Between the partial nudity, Justin Timberlake going down on Mila Kunis and a couple of they said what?! lines from Emma Stone and Woody Harrelson, it's safe to say this is definitely not approved for all audiences by the MPAA.

Earlier this year, we got the Natalie Portman comedy, No Strings Attached. Now, we get a second film that treads similar ground. Instead of Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher, though, we get Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis. The movie? "Friends with Benefits."

The film centers around two friends who decide to have a sexual relationship with no strings attached. Hilarity ensues. Dylan (Justin Timberlake) and Jamie (Mila Kunis) think it’s going to be easy to add the simple act of sex to their friendship, despite what Hollywood romantic comedies would have them believe. They soon discover, however, that getting physical really does always lead to complications.

"Friends With Benefits" opens in the States Friday, July 22, and with plenty of media hype, its sure to be a big weekend.

The former Beatles member Sir Paul McCartney, is set to marry Nancy Shevell in London. After his last and very public marriage and subsequent bitter divorce he is going for a more low key union this time round. Reportedly the couple will marry in a small civil ceremony in London with only close members of his family present. The couple then plan to fly New York, where they will hold a party for friends and members of Shevell’s American family.

After they marry the couple are likely to live in England but New Yorker Nancy Shevell, who said it was “a total surprise” when the singer proposed, will divide her time between Sir Paul McCartney’s homes in London and East Sussex. But as Shevell is vice-president of her family’s vast transport firm she will commute to New York once a month.Nancy was married for more than 20 years to lawyer Bruce Blakeman, with whom she has a son, Arlen, 19. The couple first met in 2007 and as Nancy is a multi-millionaire in her own right Sir Paul McCartney can rest easy that she is not after his vast fortune.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and veteran actress Sridevi will be sharing screen space with each other after almost 19 years for their upcoming film English Vinglish.

The film, being touted as Sridevi's Bollywood comeback, will see her essay the role of a housewife who joins a spoken English course to impress her husband and family.

The two were last paired in the 1992 hit film Khuda Gawah. Earlier, they were seen together in films like Inquilaab and Akhree Rasta.

Sridevi was last seen in a full-fledged role in the 1997 film Judaai with Anil Kapoor and Urmila Matondkar.

The senior Bachchan, who will be seen making a special appearance in the film, tweeted that the actress is still spontaneous and lovely.

It's no secret that Matt Damon keeps company with some pretty famous friends Ben Affleck, George Clooney, Brad Pitt among them. But unlike the others and especially in the case of Pitt, Damon is able to maintain a fairly normal life.


I have friends who are like prisoners. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie for instance, Damon told German television TELE 5 over the weekend. They can't just go someplace. If they go for a walk, it turns into an international incident.

For Damon, life revolves around family, and that might have something to do with his ability to maintain a low profile. Ever since I found my wife Luciana and we had children, my whole life revolves around that. It gave my life a dramatic change in direction. I'm not as crazy as most of the other stars. I don't really know why, probably because I married a woman who isn't an actress. And we live in New York, he said. British television personality Katie Price and Peter Andre had decided to split.Katie Price was at BBC Radio One with Greg James to talk about her new book, when the radio presenter asked about her relationship with Pete. Banking heir and environmental consultant Nick Loeb, Vergara’s boyfriend of a year, is considering running for a U.S. Senate seat from Florida next year. Said Loeb of his potential campaign, The Emmys are Sept. 18 and I’ll probably make a decision after that. Glad he’s got his priorities straight!

Loeb Tweeted that he might look more closely at running after  his strongest competitor quit the race early this week, and he told the Post, Now that Republican state senator Mike Haridopolos has dropped out of the race I’m sure there’s going to be other people who are interested in running. I probably won’t be making a decision until sometime after Labor Day. I would say more toward the end of September Right now I’m supporting Sofia and her career.

That’s not to say Vergara isn’t supportive of Loeb’s political aspirations. If anything, the Colombia native would be a boon for his constituency of Hispanic voters. And men with pulses. But let’s get down to brass tacks on this one. How might a campaign affect Vergara’s role on Modern Family, most especially the voluptuous star’s fashion sense? Famous for showing off her curves, will will the small screen sex symbol have to button it up for this new role as Capitol Hill leading lady? We certainly hope not.

American entertainer Britney Spears’ ex-bodyguard Fernando Flores has opened his mouth yet again. If you’ll remember, he’s the one who’s been shilling stories to The Sun ever since he left Britney’s employment after working for her from February through May last year. At first, Fernando kept things pretty believable with claims that Brit walked around naked in front of him, tried to tempt him into her bed, and refused to wear underwear in public, the latter of which was the “last straw” because Fernando got the blame for the fallout. These things weren’t exactly flattering to Britney, but they were plausible because  Britney has shown herself to be quite fond of going pantless in front of the paparazzi.

Then, Fernando escalated the game by selling the story that Britney beat her sons with belts and knowingly fed them foods to which they were allergic. When Fernando finally filed his lawsuit last September, he included the above allegations as well as the claim that Britney had sex in front of her kids.Flores has now filed a new document with the court, which is rather comical in one light but also quite serious in its potential ramifications. Flores is asking for $10 million in damages due to the “psychological damage, anxiety attacks, depression and insomnia” that he suffered because Britney farted, picked her nose, and took many drugs, including methamphetamines. Really.

American socialite, television personality, model, and actress Kim Kardashian is suing Old Navy over an ad that features a model who looks like her.The reality show starlet and model on Wednesday sued the clothing store and its parent company, The Gap Inc, in a Los Angeles federal court alleging their ads violated her publicity rights with ads that feature a woman who looks like her. A video of a broadcast ad featuring a smiling, dark haired woman who bears a resemblance to the real Kardashian has been viewed more than two million times on Old Navy's YouTube channel.

Kardashian's lawsuit claims consumers may be confused by the ads and the model's actual endorsements, which include her own clothing store and shoe line. A commercial, titled, Super C U T E, began airing in February and Old Navy is still using some of the promotions, the lawsuit states.

The case cites all the benchmarks of modern celebrity: her eight million followers on Twitter, more than five million fans on Facebook and ranking as one of the most searched for celebrities on the Internet.

Kardashian has invested substantial time, energy, finances and entrepreneurial effort in developing her considerable professional and commercial achievements and success, as well as in developing her popularity, fame, and prominence in the public eye, the lawsuit states.

Louise Callagy, a spokeswoman for San Francisco based Gap said the company has not yet seen the case and had no comment.Kardashian, 31, has rocketed to fame in recent years after gaining prominence as a friend of Paris Hilton and for having a sex tape. Her lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages and wants a federal judge to prevent Old Navy from using a Kardashian lookalike model in its ads again.

The model in the ads, Melissa Molinaro, is not named in the lawsuit. She expressed exasperation that the resemblance was being pointed out again. Were still talking about this, she posted on Twitter, noting the ad ran five months ago. Some people have too much time on hands.

Romana's confidence received a major boost with her mainstream inauguration encouraging her to try her hand in several other ventures, the latest being Mostafizur Rahman Manik's Ma Amar Chokher Moni.

Other films that await release are Bodiul Alam's Buk Phate Toh Mukh Phote Na and Ei Desh Tomar Amar under the direction of F.I. Manik. Another movie that figures in her current schedule is A. Awal's Kachher Shotru, where she plays opposite Shamrat. Romana terms the storyline of the film as appealing as it surrounds a college romance.

Romana is also ready to add a bright feather to her cap by acting in the title role of P.A. Kajal's next venture, based on the life of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Romana informs that she urged the director to let her take on the challenging role as she is determined to prove her acting skills. The story has been written by Abdullah Zahir Babu and shooting will begin from July end at locations in Pubail, Sylhet and Dhaka.

Romana says P.A. Kajal took the initiative to make the movie on Mamata's life. Romana will be portrayed as an idealistic grassroots level woman who finds her voice after coming to the city and eventually secures a seat in the Indian Parliament after much struggle. Preparation for the movie is adequate, Romana adds.

The actress says that while the silver screen is her main target she does sporadic TV appearances if approached to do so. Banglavision is currently airing a serial featuring Romana where she acts opposite Mahfuz Ahmed. She recently refused remuneration for her performance in a recent Chayanika Chowdhury TV play, as she had earlier promised the director her services free of cost for her first work with her.
